2014 & 2015 schedule, updated.


--2014--
September  8  --  John P. will host. Book selection is:   The Sixth Extinction, An Unnatural History (2014), by Elizabeth Kolbert.  (One copy is  available through the local library.)

October 13  -- Mary Ann will host. Book selection is: Nothing to Envy : ordinary lives in North Korea (2010), by Barbara Demick.  (There is one copy available through the local library.)

November 10  -- John A. will host. Book selection is: My Wilderness: The Pacific Northwest (1960) by William O. Douglas.  (3 copies available through the local library.)

December 8 -- Kris will host. Book selection is: Marriage Markets: How Inequality is Remaking the American Family (2014) by June Carbone and Naomi Cahn  (No copies yet in the local library.)

2014 Schedule

January 13 -- Mary Ann will host.  Book selection is: The Bondwoman's Narrative, By Hannah Crafts a/k/a Hannah Bond,  edited by Henry Louis Gates, Jr.  (Three copies are available through the local library.)

February 10 -- Kanwal will host. Book selection tentatively is: "Knocking on Heaven's Door: The Path to a Better Way of Death," By Katy Butler.  (One copy is available through the local library.)

March 10 -- We meet 9:00 am to 11:00 am for this session. John A. will host. Book selection is: "The Unwinding: An Inner History of the New America, by George Packer. (Three copies are available through the local library.)

April 14 -- Kris will host. Book selection is: "To Die Well: your right to comfort, calm and choice in the last days of life. By Sidney H. Wanzer (1 copy available through the local library.)

May 12 -- Sue will host. Book selection is Quiet: the power of introverts in a world that can't stop speaking (2012), by Susan Cain. (Three print copies are available through the local library, plus one copy as a sound recording on CD.)

June 9 -- Brent will host. Book selection is:  Skeptics and True Believers: The exhilarating connection between science and religion (1998), by Chet Raymo.  (There is one copy available through the local library, and Brent has two copies to loan out.)

July  7 -- Cynthia will host. Book selection is:  The Last Gun: How Changes in the Gun Industry is Killing Americans and what it will take to stop it (2013), by Tom Diaz.  [Note, we are meeting the 1st Monday, not the 2nd Sunday this month.]
